The Northern Neck Northern Neck Tourism Commission – Virginia is one of the thirteen colonies that formed the United States. It’s located in the country’s southeast. It is bordered to the North and Northeast by Maryland and the District of Columbia, North and East by Tennessee, North Carolina, and South by the Atlantic Ocean to both the east and south, and West Virginia to the southwest. Virginia’s original borders included West Virginia. West Virginia was added to the Union in 1863. The state has yet to decide on the state’s boundary to the District of Columbia.
