Odd West Virginia – Virginia One of the thirteen colonies that founded by the United States of America, is located in the southeastern region of the country. It is bounded by Maryland and District of Columbia to north and northeast, North Carolina and Tennessee respectively to the south and West Virginia to southwest and west. Virginia’s initial boundaries also included West Virginia. West Virginia became a member of the Union in 1863. The state has yet to decide regarding the boundaries of the state to the District of Columbia.
